Dual Language Immersion is a unique educational model where children learn to think, read, write and communicate naturally in two languages: English and Mandarin. Native Mandarin and native English speaking students study together, beginning in TK through 6th grade, to be biliterate in both languages.

Why Chinese Mandarin DLI

Chinese is recognized by the Department of State as one of the critical languages and is among the world’s five international languages. With 1.3 billion native speakers, Chinese Mandarin is the most spoken language in the world.

Learning Chinese Mandarin stimulates cognitive development by stimulating different areas of the brain. This enhances cognitive development and problem-solving abilities. Learning Chinese Mandarin can also enhance the understanding of mathematical concepts.

With China boasting the world’s second-largest and one of the fastest-growing economies, proficiency in Chinese opens up numerous job and career opportunities. Moreover, given China’s increasing global influence, having Chinese language skills is highly valuable for careers in national defense, intelligence, and international relations involving affairs with China and other Asian nations.

AESD’s Chinese Mandarin DLI program also delve into a rich history of culture and traditions, including Chinese calligraphy, art, dance, and engaging in holiday celebrations.

AESD’s Chinese Mandarin Dual Language Immersion (DLI) program is accepting registration year round. Native Chinese Mandarin speakers are encouraged to enroll.
